for India Showcasing
Indian art house cinema from different regions.
- Cinema,
Coffee, Conversations-
is a film study circle where we screen international
feature and documentary films.
- Outreach
Programmes:
Screening Documentary and Feature films in Colleges,
Institutions and Communities and engage the participants
in discussions on the films screened.
- Lectures
on Cinema/seminars:
Through
these programmes we attempt to connect the participants
with cultural histories of ideas and desires of social
transformation, contentious socio-political-cultural
issues of our times, initiate a critique of the cultural
product/ion as well as provide an aesthetic experience.
Some of these programmes are organized in collaboration
with other cultural organizations, ngo's, educational
institutions and Film Societies in Bangalore and across
the country. Admission to our programmes are only for
members and invitees.
The objectives of the programmes
- To
inculcate among the youth a deep sense of humanism,
pluralism, and an appreciation of diversity.
- To
inspire the participants to engage in creative cultural
productions which will improve the quality of life
of the society.
- To
sensitise the youth to contemporary social problems
so that they may respond to the issues in diverse
ways.
- To
create awareness among the participants of the need
to challenge the mindless consumerism that marks our
time and seek alternatives.
- To
create spaces for progressive perspectives on social
justice, human rights, political rights, racial, linguistic,
gender and religious equality.
- To
enable the participants to rediscover that image of
a world free from violence and injustice.
